OUR MISSION

South Platte Natural Resources District (SPNRD) was established in 1972. The district is made up of three counties, Deuel, Kimball and Cheyenne county. The mission of the SPNRD is to formulate and instigate forward-looking plans and programs. All projects are completed through a cooperative process that provides long-term protection and enhancement of the district's natural resources while ensuring that major economic and social impacts are fully considered.

  • Oliver Reservoir is located 8 miles west of Kimball on Hwy 30. Kimball, NE 69145 and is managed by South Platte Natural Resources District (SPNRD). Phone # is (308) 254-2377. Camping at Oliver Reservoir is March 1 through October 31 (weather permitting)
    48 campsites with fire pits and overflow camping with no fire pits are available . Overnight camping is free, but all donations are used for park upkeep.

  • Please visit Nebraska Beach Watch for weekly Lake Health Alerts. Oliver Reservoir is one of the lakes sampled weekly May - September.

  • Oliver Dam Stilling Basin Replacement Project has begun. The project completion date is projected for October 1, 2025.
